I remind you again that I am NOT controlling any of the bachelors (unless it involves starting a challenge and departing the house when it is time to leave).
For the most part, Rose’s actions are autonomous or determined by her whims (esp when interacting on an outing).
I will be updating this in an observer/commentator role.
So in the last episode:
- Rose planned a day outing with all the boys that started with coffee at her fave shop.
- Mid-day they caught a matinee and toured a wonderful theater (and someone actually flirted with Rose).
- In the evening they found themselves dancing the night away at the club.
- A midnight snack at McDonald’s finished a wonderful day ❤
Mike had a decision to make. Today there would be an elimination challenge on the treadmills at the gym. The first to quit would be eliminated AND the top two who stayed the longest would get a solo date with the princess.
He had won the last voter’s choice elimination challenge and was eligible to sit this challenge out. However, if he sat out the challenge he would not get a chance at alone time with Rose.
He desperately wanted one on one time with Rose but it sure was risky business to jump into the challenge. At the end of his deliberation, he concluded that he would rather fight for time with her than sit safely on the sidelines.
He joined the other fellas and set his face toward the challenge.
The treadmills are set and the candidates begin. The first to voluntarily step off will be eliminated.
Prince and Pace got a little too competitive and both took a hard tumble.
But they got “right back on the horse” although Pace does seem a bit chagrined by his spill.
All of a sudden .. one .. two .. three! They fell like flies! The first one to step off was HUGO 😦 Pace and Prince second and third to step off … in that order.
I think Hugo was lured away by the climbing walls. Would have been lots of time for that later Hugo (SMH).
Not sure what stopped the other two boys because all they did was jump off do pushups … TOGETHER.
This left two on the treadmills, Jack and Mike. Both would get a solo date but the first one off got an afternoon and to the victor the coveted evening date.
Although they are great friends, both boys are highly competitive!
They ran …
and ran …
and ran …
and ran …
and ran (and TBH this is how I thought they would ALL do).
Then it was over. Jack fought hard but he could not overcome the very determined Mike (who continued to run … I guess he wanted NO doubt about the winner).
Rose gave Mike a grin. “Super job,” she chirped to the still running Mike. She was so glad to finally be up and off that rock seat.
AAAAND Mike is done! Apparently he got a bit distracted by Rose.
The next morning Rose was not looking forward to her dismal task. She took a bit of liquid courage and …
met Hugo on the patio. This was not going to be easy.
They have a good strong friendship and she even has romantic feelings for him.
She did not understand why he quit so quickly.
He said he wished he knew what had come over him.
He is feeling quite embarrassed by the whole thing.
Rose’s heart was heavy as he walked away.
She hopped into the pool to work out some of those feelings and it was not long before Mike was in and chatting her up.
Did not take long for Pace and Jack to join too.
Rose and the boys chatted excitedly about the wonderful party that was coming this evening.
Was not long before Rose’s sadness melted away. How could she stay blue with such delightful company surrounding her?
Prince was not in the pool among the throng of adoring fellas.
It is not that he has no feelings for Rose .. he indeed has romantic feelings for her BUT Hugo was his best friend in the house.
He just needs a bit of time alone. He would miss his goofy friend.
